a day at silver springs

well me and sue went to a place here called silver springs. if any of you make it down here again we are defenetly takeing you there! the place is a natural spring river with about 7 springs, and they take you on tours of the springs on 3 different boat rides and all three are glass bottom boats! this is also where the original tarzan movies and series was filmed as with the original movie creature from the black lagoon and the tv series see hunt. this guy back in the 20's bought a bunch of monkeys and had them put on a island in there for something exotic for people to come and see, but he didn't know that they could swim and by the next morning they all we're gone, well he thought he bought one type of monkey that couldnt swim but he got screwed and the ones he got could swim and so they did! theese monkeys have been in the wild since the 20's and now range from jacsonvile to tampa! the springs have about 2000 in there and the surrounding state forest, we got to see some on one of the boat tours and all of them had yungins with them well most of them did.

ok these next ones are just random pics from the boats most of the boat ones through the bottom didnt come out because of the reflection.
we bought year passes to this place so next time we go(july 4th week) we will take alot more pics and post them. and also a link to the place. well got a bunch of things planed comming up so there will be alot of posts the next month or so, day trips, our reneck patio, and just vacation things so keep lookin lots to come.

i cant be left unsupervised

well sue took a nap in wich left me unsupervised! so i decided to go shave since i hadn't shaved my head in a week, that part went ok then i went to trim my beard and didnt check the gauge on my razor! heck the gauge wasn't even on! so most of you have never seen me like this and probally never will again! so laugh it up!

a day with an old friend.

well over the weekend a friend of ours was passin through fl. so we got togeather for the day, we havent seen sean in 12 years. me and swawn go back to elementary school and sue knew him from denny's where me and her met. well we went to st. augastine to show hin the spanish fort. here is a pic of sean and sue

i'm gonna try to find a website in the fort and post it also the place is great. sue went there wit hken and beth and was saying over the weekend that she wished all of you had more time when you came down so she could have taken you there. the day we went they had demestrations going on and did an cannon fireing while we we're there ok here's more pics.

well here we go again!

well the fires have started again down here, as of 6 am here there is/was 200 fires burning in fl. none near us the closest which is also the biggest at over 2600 acres burnt so far and still raging, that one is around 20 miles away. and we also have a big storm off the coast hamering us with strong winds around 25-30 mph which isnt helping the fires, hope fully if it comes ashore it brings lots of rain, they are gonna fly into it tomorrow (wed) and see if it is/will be the first tropical storm of the season in which starts june 1st. ok on a lighter note me and sue took out these two kids we've know since natas (short for natalis spelling is wrong but you get the idea) was about a year old and we've known his sister river since she was born, we are friends of their parents and used to hang out with their grandparents. they've always looked at us as uncle mike and aunt sue and we spoil them when we can and go do things with them when time permits so this weekend past we went to play miniature golf with them so here's some pics.
this sat we have a friend passing through here that we havent seen in 12 years so the three of us are gonna go up to st. augastine for the day, we are gonna go to the fort and the fountain of youth ans walk the shops so i will post on either sunday or monday with the pics from there. and we'll keep up to date on our fires on here but as of now there is no threat to us around here at all lets just hope it stays that way and we finally get some rain we desperately need.

update

ok here we are. well the state of florida is back under state of emergency again! for brush fire's. we have one right now just north of us on the county line ( about 20 miles away) and last report its 2500 acres and growin. they say we are looking at another year like back in 98 when we had our fires, at one point in time 75% of the county's had fires at the same time, and by the end every county in the entire state had been on fire. we had fire fighters from all around the world literately here to help with them they we're from germany,japan, austraila, new zeland and more! sue was workin two shifts shuttleling the fire fighters from place to place and from hotels to the fires and drop off points. they even canceled the july race here to use the speedway for a campground type place fror fire fighters. just now on the news there is three burning in cental florida, what joyous news! the smoke is all over the place here looks like fog. its real bad in the morning till the winds pic up, the only good news to this is so far no homes have been burnt in 98 they lost hundreds of homes let alone the wildlife and peoples pets, horses and livestock, ok on a lighter note the rodeo went ok for sue she did ok but no win this time, her and the others that were not from where it was had a hard time because it was all different equipment from there's and no time to get to know the new stuff they had to use, but she still had a great time and is gonna go after it again next year. we started fishin again on sun and she wipped me good so the fight is on now!!! we'll take the camera this weekend if we go, we are having a competition to see who catches the most flounder this year from now till the end of the year, so far she's up by two!!! ok i'll update on sunday night to let everyone know whats goin on then.

this weeks post

well not much this week yet but there is some old news that i forgot to post so here it is. well a few months back sue was asked to participate in a bus rodeo at her company against other company's in her district. well she kicked but big time! there is a written test part and then they drive obstacle courses and stuff with the buses like they do in a rodeo like barrel races and stuff, well there was 4 trophies for 4 categories and she won first place in three of them! and they said the only reason she didnt get the other two was that she didnt qualify for the categories. the categories we're rookie, pre inspection,and winner for gold division (gold is the division she drives for ) and the only trophy she didnt win was runner up (second place). now at the end of this month she is goin to the other side of the state to the state rodeo, and if she wins this one she goes to the nationals in vegas! so keep your fingers crossed and we'll see how she does. and here is a picture on her new truck her bubba truck as she calls it.yes are lawn is dead and the weeds need to be mowed and i'll take care of that this weekend ( if i'm not fishin) well easter has come and gone, and for us easter sunday is the calendar mark for us to start flounder fishin again wich we'll do till about mid november depending on the cold weather. and also you guys keep your fingers crossed for me too please cause i will need your help this fall, cause me and kieth (the guy with the turkey) are trying to ge tsue to go hunting with us, we're trying to get her to start bird hunting with us and then we'll work her into small game( squirrels and rabbits) then deer and then spring turkey. her and kieth really get along great and i would love nothing more than to have her out there with me , she says that hunting season is my time to spend with my friends and just to take time for myself, but i allways wish she was right there with me. and kieth wants her to go also so keep your fingers crossed for me and i'll work on her all summer.ok of course i will post the rodeo results when that time comes and hope fully we'll have fishin pics up here before long. ok we are gonna start a weekly update on here. keep lookin there will allways be something new to see read.
