the turkey
man he owes me big time! but it was his first bird so it was well worth it for him to be there and not me. the story goes we had gotten drawn in a lotto for turkey permits from the state, me kieth (the guy in the pic) got drawn as well as another friend of ours jeff, we had 3 out of 20 permits for a 3 day turkey hunt, on 25,000 plus acres! well i couldn't go so i gave bob my other hunting partner (me keith and bob hunt together) bob didnt get drawn so i gave him mine, and this man lives for spring turkey and loves to call them. so he called for keith and they scored one of only three turkeys harvested during the hunt, and it was kieths first turkey it was 23 pounds with a 9 inch beard and 7/8 inch spurs nice bird for anyone let alone your first!

Gorgeous bird! I've never been turkey hunting, but I hear it is pretty challenging.

Man, don't you just hate it when work or some other silly responsibility interferes with hunting! I do. Congrrats to your buddy on his turkey. I have never been able to get one - everytime I went out and called-Canadian Geese would fly in (maybe I had the wrong call). Nice to see the blog.
